PARIS (Sputnik) – Earlier in the day, Vasyl Hrytsak, head of the Ukrainian Security Service (SBU), said that the agency had prevented 15 terrorist attacks which were being planned ahead of the UEFA European Championship in France. The SBU had detained a French national who disclosed that extremists were planning to explode a mosque, a synagogue, a tax collection agency and highway observation points, among others.
"We confirm that a French citizen was arrested in Ukraine in late May. We are in touch with the Ukrainian authorities regarding this issue," Romain Nadal told reporters.
