WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — An estimated eight million people in the US state of California are expected to vote in Tuesday’s primary election, the Field Poll revealed.
"[A]bout 8 million voters will be participating in today’s California presidential primary election," the poll stated.
Close to five million people already sent in their votes by mail, which is a record for a primary election in California, the poll added.
On Monday night, several media outlets declared Hillary Clinton the presumptive Democratic Party presidential nominee after she reached the necessary number of both pledged delegates and super-delegates. The poll was conducted before Clinton’s declaration.
