MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The inspection took place on June 6, and the EU officials were accompanied by Romanian competition authority, the statement said.
"The Commission has concerns that the companies involved may have violated EU antitrust rules that prohibit cartels and restrictive business practices and/or the abuse of a dominant market position," the statement said.
The EU will further investigate the suspected anticompetitive behavior in Romanian gas sector. The statement omits the names of the companies affected by the inspection.
