WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — The leaders committed to increase cooperation between law enforcement agencies and national security entities to secure critical cyber infrastructure and combat malicious activity by state and non-state actors.
"[Obama and Modi] committed to deepen cooperation on cybersecurity and welcomed the understanding reached to finalize the Framework for the US-India Cyber Relationship in the near term," the statement said.
Additionally, the two leaders pledged to promote bilateral research and development in cybersecurity, including product development, testing and training.
The joint statement was released following a bilateral meeting between Obama and Modi as part of Modi’s three-day trip to the US capital.
