"We pay particular attention to restoring intra-Palestinian unity. Russia welcomes the efforts made by Qatar, we welcome Egypt's readiness to resume its role in these efforts. We are ready to make a contribution as well. We have hosted various Palestinian groups in the past and are ready to hold another round of such intra-Palestinian dialogue at this point," Lavrov said at a joint press conference with his Palestinian counterpart Riyad al-Maliki.
Moscow does not believe there is a need to amend the Arab Peace Initiative on the Arab-Israeli issue, Lavrov said.
"It [the initiative] is complete, it covers the whole range of relations between Israel and the Arab states, including Palestine, of course. And there is no need for amendments. I think Israel will push for some amendments. If we all agree that this document is acceptable to everyone as a very good basis for further negotiations, it will be important to work out practical details, the sequence of steps in order to move forward with both Palestinian-Israeli and Arab-Israeli settlement," Lavrov told reporters.
