The sum allocated to the Norwegian Royal Family in 2016 amounted to $2.5 million.
In April, the Dagbladet reported that the Norwegian monarchy costs the state $55 million per year, with $14 million of this sum being spent on items such as police escorts which was not accounted for by the state’s Royal House budget.
