VLADIVOSTOK (Russia) (Sputnik) – Earlier in the day, the two-day Far Eastern Media Summit opened near Vladivostok on Russky Island, bringing together some 2,000 officials, experts, coaches, and media representatives from across Russia and abroad, including delegates from Japan and China. The delegates are scheduled to discuss a broad range of media-related issues, the future of contemporary journalism, as well as sign a number of documents.
"Primorye [Russia's Far Eastern Primorsky Territory] is destined to become Russia's gateway to Asia. Russia will become part of the fastest growing Asia-Pacific markets, and our joint media work can help implement this task," China Central Television (CCTV) producer Yang Yijun, who is one of the experts at the summit, told the Time of Eurasia news program.
She offered to Russian colleagues to prepare joint television programs.
The first Far Eastern summit was held in June 2014, bringing together almost 700 participants.
