Prior to that, St. Petersburg's governor Georgy Poltavchenko visited the Republika Srpska to meet with President Milorad Dodik to discuss the implementation of earlier agreements and promising areas of cooperation.
"We are seeing a significant support from the governor of St. Petersburg for this cooperation and try to strengthen it, so we have prepared a protocol, which is due to be signed soon," Gluhakovic told RIA Novosti.
The minister noted that the provisions of the document would include cooperation in the field of tourism, as well as opening the republic's trade mission in St. Petersburg.
"I am sure that the presentation of the Republika Srpska and the future opening of a trade mission in St. Petersburg will be the beginning of serious cooperation in the framework of which the Republika Srpska's products and services will be presented at a venue determined by the governor of St. Petersburg," the minister said.
He added that the republic also expected the traditional winter Christmas Market in St. Petersburg, which is expected to be attended by the republic's craftspeople and producers.
The Republika Srpska is an administrative entity in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which was established in 1995 following a three-year civil war. Sarajevo acknowledges the republic's autonomy, and the country essentially includes two separate territorial and political entities — the Federation of BiH with mostly Bosniaks and Croats, and the Republika Srpska with mostly Serbs.
