WASHINGTON (Sputnik) – FBI undercover sting operations which encompass agents posing as jihadists are now used in about two of every three prosecutions that involve people suspected of supporting Daesh, The New York Times reported on Tuesday.
“This cannot help but lead to the conclusion by a few Muslims that the United States sees them all as enemies,” Pierce, a retired US Army major, stated on Thursday.
The FBI has announced that they are ramping up Daesh recruiting sting operations that legal experts criticize as entrapment and which national security experts see as US law enforcement radicalizing their own citizens to send them to prison.
Pierce said the policy was meant to fan fears of the Muslim community within the United States among the general public to generate more support for the policy of waging widespread aggressive military operations across the Middle East and other parts of the Muslim world.
“Here is another example of how derelict national security officials distract the American people from looking more closely at the federal officials who have turned a terrorist attack on 9/11 into a pretext to wage a global war against Muslims.”
“The US attacks on Muslim countries as targets of opportunity since 9/11 is the true cause of terrorism but entrapping these people as the FBI is doing serves to distract us from the real issues.”
American media sympathetic coverage of the sting operations also ensured continued popular support for high levels of military and intelligence service funding, Pierce pointed out.
“It ensures a steady transfer of wealth to the national security apparatchiks at the cost of providing for real economic needs.”
Daesh has been designated as a terrorist organization and is outlawed in the United States and Russia, among numerous other states.
