Delta IV Heavy Rocket With US Spy Satellite Blasts Off from Cape Canaveral
A Delta IV heavy rocket carrying a US spy satellite successfully lifted off Saturday from the air force station at Cape Canaveral, the United Launch Alliance (ULA) announced.
WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — The rocket took off at 1:51 p.m. local time in Florida, after Thursday's planned launch was postponed over unfavorable weather conditions.
The vehicle launched a top-secret payload into space for the US National Reconnaissance Office (NROL-37) in support of national defense.
The NROL-37 mission will be Delta IV’s 32nd since the vehicle’s inaugural launch in 2002 and the tenth NRO mission to launch on Delta IV.
