MARSEILLES (Sputnik) — French police on Saturday used tear gas for a third day in a row against English football fans involved in clashes near the city's Old Port, a R-Sport correspondent reported.
Local police used gas and detained several fans, after they started throwing bottles and chairs at law enforcement officers.

The incident took place ahead of the first match of England's national team, which is due to play with Russia's team at Stade Velodrome on 8 p.m. local time (19:00 GMT).
Scuffles involving England's fans had already took place outside an English pub in Marseilles’ Old Port on Thursday and Friday, ahead of England’s Euro 2016 games.
