MOSCOW (Sputnik) — According to the Pix11 broadcaster, the incident occurred on Monday at a playground, when a group of minors were playing basketball, and one of them noticed that his expensive bag was missing. After no one confessed to taking the bag, the owner left the park and returned with friends, one of whom had a gun, and opened fire at the scene.
At least five young men between 15 and 17 years old were wounded, but received no life-threatening injuries, according to the broadcaster. All the victims were taken to a local hospital for treatment.
The Second Amendment to the US Constitution guarantees the right of Americans to keep and bear arms. Gun violence and tougher gun controls remain a controversial political topic in the United States.
The issue of US gun safety laws has drawn particular attention following the Sunday massacre in Orlando, when a shooter identified as US national Omar Mateen, opened fire in a crowded gay nightclub in Orlando killing 49 people and injuring at least 53 others. The Orlando massacre has become the deadliest mass shooting in the history of the United States.
