WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — The poll showed Clinton leading Trump by 7 points, 49 percent to 42 percent, well above the poll’s margin of error of plus or minus 1.4 percentage points. Most recent polls have shown Trump and Clinton essentially tied, with results within the estimated error margins.
"These results indicate that Clinton appears to be gaining ground in a match-up against Trump and that most voters think she will win in November," a press release explaining the poll results stated.
The release warned, however, that public opinion could shift significantly following Sunday’s terrorist attack in the US State of Florida that killed at least 49 patrons of a nightclub and wounded 53.
The survey was conducted from June 6 to June 12, the release noted.
