MOSCOW (Sputnik) - The campaign at GoFundMe was launched by Equality Florida, the state's lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) civil rights organization.
"From average Americans, large corporations, celebrities, musicians, artists, and political figures, over 65,000 donations have been made towards Equality Florida's Pulse Victim Fund," the statement reads.
On Sunday, a shooter identified as US national Omar Mateen, opened fire in the Pulse gay nightclub in Orlando killing 49 people and injuring at least 53 others. The Orlando massacre has become the deadliest mass shooting in the history of the United States.
