The modus-operandi of Hamidon is just like any fictional ‘Honey Trap'. She first befriends Indian men using her beauty and then indoctrinates them with Daesh ideology.
Karen Aisha Hamidon has radicalized several Indians and probably also arranged their travel to territories occupied by Daesh.
Indian intelligence agencies got this sensational news from the recently indicted Indian Daesh member Mohammad Sirajuddin and Mohammad Naser who are presently in police custody.
Karen Aisha Hamidon is now on the radar of Indian intelligence agencies.
India's National Investigation Agency (NIA) has approached the Philippines government seeking details and evidence on Karen.
NIA is of the view that Karen might have influenced many Indians through Facebook, telegram channels and WhatsApp groups. According to NIA sources, one of the largest groups she ran was ‘IslamQ&A', where Daesh members shared the caliphate's ideology and jihadi materials with several young Indian men, expressing a desire to travel to Syria.
"Daesh is running short of fighters as several of them deserted and many fighters have died in US and Russian attacks. Daesh is desperately trying to recruit more members so as to run their terror factory. So Daesh is now using 'Honey Traps' to lure youths. Although some of the Indian youths have been influenced by Daesh, the majority does not believe in their ideology," expert on Middle East Qamar Aga told Sputnik.
