MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Earlier in the day, Avinor announced that the airspace of western Norway was closed, with local media claiming that instability in the system used by air traffic controllers was behind the incident.
"With the help of backup systems some traffic has now been allowed, with limited capacity. This means that there will be further delays throughout the day," the company said in a statement.
According to the company the error is not yet localized but "intense work is underway to detect and correct the error."
It is currently impossible to determine when the airspace will be fully opened, the company added.
