NEW YORK (Sputnik) — Pistorius, who was sentenced to five years in prison for the murder of his partner Reeva Steenkamp in October 2014, was set to be paroled in mid-August, but the decision was suspended by the South African authorities.
In December, South Africa's Supreme Court of Appeal overturned a lower court’s verdict of culpable homicide, and found Pistorius guilty of murder in February 2013. Pistorius had shot Steenkamp four times through a locked toilet door, but maintained he mistook Steenkamp for an intruder.
"Judge Thokozile Masipa said the court would reconvene on Wednesday 6 July for her to hand down [the] sentence," the Gaurdian reported on Wednesday.
