STRELNA (Russia), (Sputnik) — Russian energy giant Gazprom and the Royal Dutch Shell oil company signed on Thursday a memorandum of understanding on the Baltic LNG (liquefied natural gas) plant project.
"The document reflects the parties' interest in the expansion of cooperation in the field of LNG and envisages the study of possibilities and prospects for the construction of a plant of 10-million-tonne of LNG capacity per year in the Ust-Luga port," the memorandum documents read.
The project is expected to be implemented by the end of 2021.
