VLADIVOSTOK (Sputnik) – An oil spill has occurred in the Russian port of Nakhodka, located in Primorsky Territory, Russia’s Federal Agency for Maritime and River Transport (Rosmorrechflot) reports.
The oil spill occurred over an area of 1,500 square meters. It follows an earlier spill over an area of 3,000 square meters, which occurred in the port of Nakhodka earlier this month.
"In order to contain and eliminate pollution emergency rescue teams of the Primorsky branch of Rosmorrechflot’s maritime rescue service were sent to the site," the maritime transport agency said in a statement.
According to the statement, the oil spill has been successfully eliminated.
