UEFA Warns Russian Journalists Detained in Lille of Accreditation Revoke
Russian journalists detained in Lille before the match between Russia and Slovakia have been notified by UEFA on Thursday that their accreditation will be revoked if they are detained again.
CROISSY-SUR-SEINE (France), (Sputnik) — On Wednesday, Russian journalists covering football clashes between English and Russian fans in the city were stopped by police for the formal documents check. They received no prior warnings and were pressed no charges. None of the policemen talked English. Journalists had been released shortly after detention.
French law enforcement authorities reported that they have detained a total of 36 people in the city of Lille, including Russian fans.
