MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Latvian military claimed on Thursday that they have detected Russian warships in the Baltic state's exclusive economic zone five nautical miles (5.8 miles) away from its borders.
"On June 16, two Russian Navy corvettes had been detected in the Latvian exclusive economic zone, five nautical miles away from the national territory," Latvian National Armed Forces wrote on Twitter.
Earlier in March, Latvian military also said that two Russian warships had been detected near the republic's borders. Russian Navy denied the allegation.
