CAIRO (Sputnik) – It may take several weeks to analyze the data retrieved from EgyptAir flight MS804, which crashed en route from Paris to Cairo on May 19, plane’s black boxes, the Egyptian Aircraft Accident Investigation Committee said Friday.
"The Technical Investigation committee for the A320 downed in the Mediterranean mid of last month; has received the Cockpit Voice Recorder (CVR) and the Flight Data Recorder (FDR) from the general prosecution; after being retrieved from the aircraft wreckage location. The two data recorders will be handed over to the Central Department for Aircraft Accident at the Ministry of Civil Aviation to start analysing them in order to unload their data. The analysis of data may take several weeks," the committee said in a statement.
According to the statement, the duration of analysis would depend on how damaged the memory units at both recorders are.
