ST. PETERSBURG (Sputnik) — Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed hope Friday that the sense of responsibility would urge next US president to cooperate with Russia.
"We think the sense of responsibility of a US head, the leader of the country, which has an influence on many things in the modern world, will push a newly elected president to cooperate with Russia, and I wand to stress, to create more secure world," Putin said at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).
The US presidential election is scheduled to take place on November 8, 2016.
The 2016 St. Petersburg International Economic Forum is taking place on June 16-18. According to the organizing committee, the number of contracts at SPIEF is expected to reach at least 293 billion rubles ($4.4 billion).
