"Downtown Orlando has no bottom. The entire city should be leveled. It is void of a single redeeming quality. It is a melting pot of 3rd world miscreants and ghetto thugs. It is void of culture. If you live down there you do it at your own risk and at your own peril. If you go down there after dark there is seriously something wrong with you," Lewis wrote on Facebook, adding later that "All Orlando nightclubs should be permanently closed. With or without random gunmen they are zoos."
On June 12, 29-year-old Omar Mateen opened fire in The Pulse, a gay nightclub in Orlando, Florida, killing 49 people and injuring over 50 others.
In Facebook posts allegedly made prior and during the shooting but later taken down, Mateen threatened future attacks in the United States by the Islamic State (ISIL, also known as Daesh) terrorist group, banned in the US and a range of other countries.
CIA Chief John Brennan said on Thursday that the US Central Intelligence Agency did not uncover any direct connection between Omar Mateen and foreign terrorist organizations.
Mateen’s attack is the deadliest mass shooting in the history of the United States.
