"There are doubts that the IOC has a jurisdiction to change the decision. Lawyers should work over this case. We should not definitely say [that it is nothing to wait for here], we will struggle and do our best [to change the situation]… The lawyers will study the issue," Zhukov told reporters.
On Friday, IAAF officially announced the decision to uphold its ban imposed earlier on ARAF, which means that Russian athletes cannot participate in international competitions under the IAAF aegis.
According to Zhukov, the IAAF report stipulates that those athletes, who passed anti-doping tests independently, could be allowed to participate in international competition. Some Russian athletes have been tested under supervision of a foreign agency for half a year and the samples have been checked in foreign laboratories, Zhukov added.
