MOSCOW (Sputnik) — According to the sources, FBI agents arrested Deputy Chief Michael Harrington, Deputy Inspector James Grant, and a NYPD officer from gun licensing division, NBC 4 New York broadcaster reported.
Additionally, the owner of a venture capital firm Jeremy Reichberg who allegedly gave gifts to officers, was arrested, while a Brooklyn businessman Alex Lichtenstein was charged with additional crimes, the media outlet noted.
It is reported that Lichtenstein has been already charged earlier this year as he allegedly gave bribes to NYPD officers to expedite gun licenses for his associates.
According to the sources, these arrests could be connected with former top officials at the 66th Precinct in New York, who were allegedly accepting gifts and vacations in exchange for providing services, such as police escorts and shutting down streets for private events.
