As the countdown to EU referendum draws to a close in the UK, the In and Out campaign groups have certainly got their claws out.

Boris Johnson and Michael Gove from Vote Leave have hit out at UKIP leader Nigel Farage for his "narrow minded, insular, bigoted, and xenophobic" rhetoric.

While Gove has accused Prime Minister David Cameron, firmly in the Remain camp, of knowing it was "impossible" for the government to reduce net migration to fewer than 100,000 while the UK remained in the European Union.
EU coverage of the day so far. Leave campaigner Steve Hilton says something about immigration. Michael Gove replies. Cameron refutes.

Meanwhile #CatsAgainstBrexit is trending on Twitter in the absence of anything new from the politicians.

Top trend.
That's why I love GB.#Remainpic.twitter.com/4fkHVi7vBD
And not just a pretty face, former England football captain David Beckham, has revealed his support for the Remain campaign.
"We live in a vibrant and connected world where together as a people we are strong."

"For our children and their children we should be facing the problems of the world together and not alone" Beckham said.
And after months of mug shots of politicians plaguing social media the #CatsAgainstBrexit and #DavidBeckham tweets offer a welcome relief as the countdown to the UK's referendum is almost over.

However, the support for the Remain campaign from one of the world's most famous footballers has also been met with some pretty catty remarks.
If David Beckham's opinion can influence your vote, take a long hard look in the mirror and slap yourself. Several times.

Meow!
People can mock David Beckham all the like but he has both national and global appeal. Something that politicians crave.
