WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — The presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton has pulled even with her Republican rival Donald Trump in the key swing state of Ohio and is now leading in the swing state of Florida among voters, a Quinnipiac University poll revealed on Tuesday.

"Democrat Hillary Clinton opens an 8-point lead over Republican Donald Trump in Florida, the largest of the presidential swing states, and erases a small Trump lead to create a dead heat in Ohio," the poll stated.
The assistant director of the poll, Peter Brown, said he thinks these latest numbers are a reflection of the recent struggles between Trump and some of the more mainstream Republican Party leaders.
Last week, several Republican leaders in Congress, including House of Representatives Speaker Paul Ryan, stated they did not agree with Trump’s proposal to ban Muslims from entering the United States until their identities were properly established.
