MOSCOW (Sputnik) — According to the source, the special envoy may address the issue of a new roadmap on political settlement that he planned to present last week but decided to postpone it due to disagreements between the parties to the conflict.
Last week, a diplomatic source told Sputnik that the UN special envoy was to submit the draft deal to Yemeni negotiators in a short time.
The draft deal was supposed to include key points discussed at the negotiations, including establishment of a joint interim government, supreme military supervision committee as well as mechanisms of firearms surrender and rebel troops withdrawal.
The latest round of the UN-mediated talks in Kuwait, attempting to reconcile the Houthi rebels with Yemeni government headed by President Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi, launched on April 21. Since then, the talks have brought no results.
