At least six border guards were killed in a car bomb attack in Jordan on Tuesday.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Moscow condemns the deadly attack on the Jordanian-Syrian border and affirms its anti-terrorist support to Amman, the Russian Foreign Ministry said Wednesday.

"We strongly condemn another terrorist attack on the Jordanian soil. We express our condolences to the families and friends of those killed and wish a speedy recovery to the injured. We reaffirm our continued support for the government and people of friendly Jordan in opposition to the terrorist threat," the ministry said in a statement.

The Jordanian Armed Forces said at least six guards had died and 14 wounded in a car bomb attack at the Rukban border post on Tuesday.

"At the same time we reiterate the urgent need to consolidate broader international efforts in countering terrorist challenges posed by the IS [Daesh], al-Qaeda and related extremist groups wherever they operate," the ministry said.
