DUBAI (Sputnik) — Ismail Mahlavi told Alsumaria broadcaster that the aircraft also managed to destroy two militants' stocks with weapons and ammunition.
"The aircraft of international coalition in coordination with commanders of the ground operations in Anbar province managed to conduct airstrikes on several targets and groups of Daesh militants in the Zankura area north of Ramadi, which resulted in deaths of 50 terrorists," Ismail Mahlavi said.
The Anbar province is home to Daesh's stronghold, where Iraqi forces are continuing their advances against militants with the help of Shiite militias. In December 2015, the country's forces regained control over most parts of Ramadi.
