Baltimore Police Officer Caesar Goodson was acquitted of all charges in the 2015 death of Freddie Gray, local media reported on Thursday.

WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — Gray, a 25-year-old African American man, was arrested by Baltimore police officers on April 12, 2015 and died one week later after suffering a spinal cord injury while in police custody.

Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Barry Williams found Goodson not guilty of second-degree depraved heart murder, manslaughter, second-degree assault, misconduct in office and reckless endangerment, Baltimore’s WBFF-TV reported.

Goodson was the driver of the police van that transported Gray. Prosecutors had alleged that he caused Gray’s death by giving him a "rough ride," and had the opportunity to administer aid to Gray after he was seriously injured.

Four other Baltimore police officers are charged in connection with Gray’s death.

A fifth officer, Edward Nero, was acquitted on all charges by Judge Williams in May. Like Nero, Goodson had waived his right to a jury trial.
