MOSCOW (Sputnik) — UK voted in a referendum to determine whether or not the United Kingdom should leave the European Union. Pro-Brexit campaigners have used migration as a key issue in their campaigns.
"The immigration argument, even if there is a successful Brexit…is going to be pushed over by these new agreements like TiSA," Assange said during a live broadcast on the Brexit Club website.
This is due to the fact that the agreement, to which the United Kingdom would be a party, provides for the free movement of labor, he stressed.
In May, WikiLeaks published a batch of documents related to confidential 23-way talks on TiSA. The TiSA treaty is aimed at liberalizing the trade in services among the United States, the European Union and other countries accounting for nearly three-quarters of global services.
A previously unknown annex to the pact’s core chapter on state-owned enterprises (SOE) was released by the whistleblower, showing that the TiSA would force SOEs to act like private businesses. The leak also said that domestic regulation and transparency chapters bring to light new attempts by international corporations to deregulate domestic markets.
