Europe, Interrupted or Life After Brexit Vote
MOSCOW (Sputnik) — On Thursday, the United Kingdom held a referendum to determine whether or not the country should leave the European Union. According to the final results, 51.9 percent of voters, or 17.4 million people, decided to support Brexit, while about 16.1 million opposed it.

"This is an internal issue for the British people," Lavrov told reporters, asked to comment on the Brexit referendum.

Earlier, Russian authorities said that Britain's membership in the European Union is an internal matter of the UK and the EU, adding that Russia wants to see the EU united and strong.
