LONDON (Sputnik) — UK Prime Minister David Cameron will not resign after the Brexit vote as the country is in need of continuity and stability, Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond said Friday.
"The country needs sense of continuity and stability and Cameron has made clear he will remain as [prime minister]," Hammond said, as quoted by Sky News.
On Thursday, the United Kingdom held a referendum on its membership of the European Union. Earlier on Friday, it was announced that most people voted to leave the bloc.
