MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Attempts by foreign states to increase information warfare capabilities against Russia are a threat to national security, the Russian Security Council’s draft information security doctrine published Friday said.
"One of the main negative factors affecting the state of Russia’s information security is the buildup of information technology capabilities by leading foreign countries to influence Russia’s information infrastructure, including critical information infrastructure, to achieve their military objectives," the draft reads.
The draft doctrine outlining information security was devised in accordance with the federal law on strategic planning in Russia, the Security Council said.
The draft will be open to public discussion from Saturday, June 25 to July 5.
