Senior US Official to Visit Japan, China, S. Korea to Address Arms Control

US Assistant Secretary for Arms Control, Verification and Compliance Frank Rose will travel to Japan, South Korea, and China next week to discuss space security, strategic stability, and arms control among other issues, the State Department announced in a press release on Friday.

WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — Following his visit to Japan, Rose will travel to South Korea on July 2-5, where he will hold meetings with senior officials.

“From June 28-30, Assistant Secretary Rose will travel to Tokyo, Japan, to co-chair the third IPNDV [International Partnership for Nuclear Disarmament Verification] plenary meeting featuring the participation of over 25 countries,” the release said.

The diplomat will then head to China, where he will stay from July 5 until 7 for talks with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the China National Space Administration, according to the release.
