MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Somalian State Minister for Environment Buri Hamza was among the victims of the terrorist attack at a Somali hotel in the nation's capital Mogadishu, local Hiiraan news outlet said Sunday.
Hamza also served as foreign minister in 2014.
The militants of the radical al-Shabaab Islamist group attacked the Naso-Hablod hotel in Mogadishu on Saturday, killing at least 15 people and injuring 25 others.
Somalia has been experiencing violence since the country devolved into civil war in the early 1990s. The state’s collapse provided a breeding ground for warlords, pirates and the al-Qaeda affiliated al-Shabaab terrorist group.
