MOSCOW (Sputnik) — German Chancellor Angela Merkel said Monday there will be no informal talks with UK government before it initiates formal proceedings to quit the European Union.
"One thing must be clear: there can be no informal negotiations before a formal declaration of the intention to leave the European Union, so we cannot begin any informal talks until we receive a message from the UK," Merkel told reporters at a press conference in Berlin.
