MOSCOW (Sputnik) – UK Finance Minister George Osborne said Monday he was going to address his future in the ruling Conservative Party in the coming days.
"There have been questions about the future of the Conservative Party. And I will address my role within the coming days," he said in a statement adding that he respects the choice of the British people and together with his colleagues will try to do the best for the United Kingdom.
On June 23, the United Kingdom held a referendum to determine whether or not the country should leave the European Union, with over 50 percent of the UK public voting in support of Brexit. Following the vote, UK Prime Minister David Cameron announced his resignation in October.
