MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's letter to his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin included both an expression of regret and an apology for downing a Russian jet, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Tuesday.
"The message includes both words expressing regret and the word 'sorry,' both are in there," Peskov told reporters.
Erdogan also wrote that Turkey had no intentions of destroying relations with Russia as Moscow is a strategic partner for Ankara, the spokesman said.
