VIENNA (Sputnik) — Russia hopes that the world's economic situation will remain stable after the decision of the United Kingdom to quit the European Union, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexey Meshkov said Tuesday.
"Obviously, we are interested in the world's economic situation not to deteriorate.. [interested in] steady growth, it is necessary for our own economy," Meshkov told journalists.
The UK Electoral Commission announced that around 52 percent of the British people voted to leave the bloc that caused economic turbulence in country's economy and drop of the UK stock indices as well as devaluation of the pound sterling.
