MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yildirim said Tuesday that Ankara aims to restore relations not only with Russia and Egypt, but with all Mediterranean and Black Sea neighbors.
"Our goal is to restore relations not just with Russia and Egypt, but with all neighboring Mediterranean and Black Sea countries," Yildirim said at a party meeting.
Earlier Vladimir Putin received a letter from his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdoğan expressing readiness to resolve bilateral crisis caused by the downing of a Russian combat plane by the Turkish fighter jet last year, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Monday.
Turkish Prime Minister Benali Yildirim also announced the restart of diplomatic ties with Israel six years after mutual estrangement, with a formal agreement to be signed Tuesday.
