“Britain’s departure will seriously hamper the functioning of the EU mechanism where Britain used to play such a big role. The Britons’ decision to leave was prompted by the Big Empire ambitions of this island nation, which is trying be on an equal footing with superpowers like Russia, China and the United States,” Mehdi Parsa said.
The British exit has set a dangerous precedent for the EU where many member-states are unhappy about the economic crisis in the Eurozone, the unresolved migrant crisis and other problems.
He added in Afghanistan Britain is viewed as an invading, colonialist power, whose intentions are bad. The British, for their part, see their exit as a chance to pursue an independent policy and impose their will, especially on their former colonies.
“Brexit will set off a new wave of neocolonialism,” Mehdi Parsa said in conclusion.
On Thursday, the United Kingdom held a referendum to determine whether or not the country should leave the European Union. According to the final results, 51.9 percent of voters, or 17.4 million people, decided to support Brexit, while about 16.1 million opposed it.
