WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — Daesh is likely trying to stage Istanbul’s airport-style attack in the United States, US Central Intelligence Agency Director John Brennan said in an interview released on Wednesday.
"I’d be surprised if Daesh is not trying to carry out that kind of attack in the United States," Brennan stated in an interview with Yahoo News.
The CIA director added that the attack, which has not been claimed by any terrorist group yet, was likely carried out by Daesh.
"It was a suicide bombing [which] is usually more a Daesh technique," Brennan said.
On Tuesday evening, three suicide blasts rocked Istanbul’s Ataturk international airport terminal. According to the Turkish Justice Ministry, the attack has left 41 people dead and more than 200 injured.
