MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Scotland's desire to protect its relationship with the European Union is "very clear," Scottish First Minister Nicola Sturgeon said Wednesday, adding that Edinburgh does not want to leave the 28-nation bloc.
"It is very clear Scotland's desire to protect our relationship with the European Union… Scotland unlike other parts of the United Kingdom does not want to leave the European Union," Sturgeon said in Brussels.
The majority of voters in Wales and England voted in favor of leaving the bloc at Thursday referendum on the United Kingdom's membership in the European Union, while London, Scotland and Northern Ireland voted in favor of remaining part of the European Union.
