MOSCOW (Sputnik) — On Thursday, Portugal defeated Poland in a penalty shootout and got through to the semi-final round of the 2016 UEFA European Championship in France. The game was accompanied by disorders at the stadium and field invasion by a fan.
According to the UEFA, the Polish and Portuguese football federations are being charged as their fans set off fireworks and disturb the crowd during the game. The proceedings against the Portuguese Football Federation have been also opened over the field invasion by a fan.
These cases will be dealt with by the UEFA Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body on 21 July, according to the statement.
