MOSCOW (Sputnik) — In the Aleppo province, the militants have used multiple rocket launchers and mortars to shell Handrat, as well as Sheikh Maqsood and Khalab Jalil areas of the city of Aleppo and the Nayrab airbase.
"Groups belonging to the al-Nusra Front terrorist organization are continuing to obstruct the final implementation of the ceasefire. In the past 24 hours, the terrorists attacked Huteita Jarash, Harasta, Qantara, Bahariyah, Kabun, and Meida in the Damascus province and Fuah in the Idlib province," the Russian center for Syrian reconciliation at the Hmeimim airbase said on Monday.
Syria has been mired in civil war since 2011, with numerous opposition factions and Islamic extremist groups fighting government forces seeking to topple the government of President Bashar Assad.
The ceasefire in Syria worked out by Russia and the United States took effect on February 27. The cessation of hostilities does not apply to terrorist organizations, such as the Daesh and the al-Nusra Front, outlawed in a number of countries worldwide, including Russia.
