TBILISI (Sputnik) — The Organization for Security and Co-operation Parliamentary Assembly (OSCE PA) needs to address the non-conventional challenges Europe faces, including discrimination of women and youth policy, newly appointed President of the OSCE PA Christine Muttonen told Sputnik on Tuesday.
"It is a new pressure by the changed situation around us. So we certainly have to have a close look around us at things like terrorism, climate change and environmental issues but also youth and education and also female issues," Muttonen said.
Muttonen was elected OSCE PA president at the assembly's annual meeting in Tbilisi, Georgia, on Tuesday. In 2014-2016, she served as the assembly's vice president. Muttonen has been a member of Austria's Parliament since 1999.
