South Korea adopted an aid package worth $21 million to support African refugees.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — South Korea adopted an aid package worth $21 million to support refugees and other disadvantaged people in Africa, media outlets quoted the country's Foreign Ministry on Tuesday as saying.

The assistance projects to support and health care services in Africa, in particular Sudan, will be funded by levies raised at the rate of 1,000 won ($0.87) per airline ticket for international flights departing from South Korea, the ministry was cited by the Yonhap agency as specifying.

The program will be supervised by the Foreign Ministry, as well as by the subordinate Korea International Cooperation Agency and the Health Ministry.
